Wolfsburg vs Freiburg
SAT 13 JUNE 2020 – KO 2:30pm
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Saturday afternoon, Wolfsburg will attempt to consolidate their position in the Bundesliga top-six when they host Freiburg at the Volkswagen Arena.
Olivier Glasner’s team are clinging on to the last European spot narrowly at the moment. The Wolves are sixth place but are just two points ahead of Hoffenheim, who occupy seventh place and a further two clear of Saturday’s visitors, who are eighth place. The home side cannot afford any slip-ups in this clash.
]In truth, the Wolves have been highly inconsistent of late in the German top-flight. A 1-0 victory at struggling Werder Bremen last time out in the Bundesliga means that Wolfsburg have won three, drawn two and lost two of their last seven league outings.
If their general league record is inconsistent, the Wolves home record is downright poor. Glasner’s team has won just once in their last seven league outings at the Volkswagen Arena.
The team from the Black Forest have lost their way of late in the Bundesliga, as winning just one of their last five league games illustrates. However, a highly creditable 1-0 home win over Monchengladbach last time out ended a poor run of form and put them back in the race for a top-six finish.
Freiburg have been travel sick of late, winning just once in 12 away games in the German top-flight. They have also failed to win in five league matches on the road.
A positive omen for the visitors is that they have recorded two victories over the Wolves in the last three meetings, with the other game finishing in a draw.
The home side look set to be without Paulo Otavio, William and Ignacio Camacho all due to injury. The visitors could be without centre-back Manuel Gulde, due to a torn muscle.
