Wolfsburg vs Eintracht Frankfurt
SAT 30 MAY 2020 – KO 2:30pm
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Saturday afternoon, Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt go head-to-head at the Volkswagen Arena, in a game that could be pivotal in the fight for European places and the relegation play-off spot in the Bundesliga.
The Wolves are currently in the last European qualification spot in the German top-flight after an impressive 4-1 win at Champions League-chasing Bayer Leverkusen last time out.
Oliver Glasner’s team are still only three points clear of seventh place Hoffenheim, so have work to do to secure continental for next season. A run of just one defeat in their last nine matches has powered the Wolves European challenge.
The home side has certainly had an eye for goal of late in the German top-flight, scoring at least two goals in five of their last seven outings in the Bundesliga.
Their recent form on home soil has not been great in the league though, as they have claimed just one victory from their previous six matches on home soil in the Bundesliga.
The visitors recent league form has slumped in recent months, as they failed to win any of their last six outings, suffering five defeats in the process. Adi Hutter’s team did take a slight step forward in their last game, as a 3-3 home draw with Freiburg ended a losing streak of five matches in the Bundesliga.
The poor run of form means that the visitors are just two points clear of Fortuna Dusseldorf, who occupy the relegation play-off spot.
The main issue for Frankfurt of late has been poor defensive displays, as they have now conceded at least two goals in their last six league matches. That is a statistic that could very well continue in this clash.
Wolfsburg look set to be without William, Otavio and Ignacio Camacho for this clash due to injuries.
Eintracht Frankfurt look set to be without forward Goncalo Paciencia also due to injury.
