Watford vs Southampton

SAT 30 OCT 2021 – KO 15:00

Watford Vs

Watford welcomes Southampton on Saturday afternoon, with just two points separating the sides in the Premier League table.

Watford bounced back in some style after their 5-0 loss at home to Liverpool. They went back to Merseyside and beat Everton 5-2, with Josh King getting a hat-trick against his former club.

For Watford, this season is going to be all about survival. They will want to try and find some sort of balance and won’t want to be moving up and down leagues consistently. Watford have got some very exciting players in their side and games against sides towards the bottom half are their most important ones.

Watford will be full of confidence for this one, after last weeks win. It’ll be another tough game for them and we expect them to play three in the midfield again. A draw here is a good result for Watford but getting their second win at home this season would be huge.

The Saints are unbeaten in their last two games now, drawing the last one 2-2 with Burnley away from home. Loanee signings Livramento and Broja, both from Chelsea, got the goals for Southampton.

After a fairly poor start to the season, Southampton have improved of late. They are four points above the bottom three but should have too much to go down. Currently, they are struggling in front of goal and will need to find a way to score more if they want to climb the table.

Against Watford, Southampton will see it as a good chance to get their second win of the season. James Ward-Prowse will be back from suspension and will be a huge boost. Southampton are capable of getting a win here, it just depends which version of themselves turns up from this season!

Team News

Etebo, Kabasele and Sierralta are all out injured for Watford, Rose and Femenia are doubts whilst Dennis is suspended.

Stephens is the only one out for the visitors, with Broja a doubt.

Match Prediction

Southampton have improved of late and have the better side on paper. We are backing them to get a win in a close game.

Odds 5/4
