BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Saturday night, Valencia host Real Madrid at the Mestalla, as both teams search for vital points in the Spanish top-flight.
Los Che have made a poor start to their La Liga campaign picking up just eight points from the same number of games this season. Javi Gracia’s team heads into this game on the back of a four-game winless run in La Liga, three of which have ended in defeat. A 2-2 home draw with Getafe in their last league outing at least ended a run of three straight league defeats.
Valencia’s main problem in recent games has been conceding too many goals, as the home side has conceded at least two goals in their last four outings in the Spanish top-flight. Los Che are also winless in their last three home games in La Liga, picking up two draws and also suffering a defeat.
The reigning champions have not made the most convincing of starts to their title defence. However, a 4-1 home win over Huesca last time out means that Zinedine Zidane’s team have now won five of their last six games in the Spanish top-flight.
The reigning champions have also been relatively prolific of late in front of goal, scoring at least two goals in three of their last four La Liga games.
The team from the capital have also been difficult to beat on their travels of late, as Zidane’s team are unbeaten in nine games in La Liga, including recording three straight away victories.
Valencia look set to be without Eliaquim Mangala and Mouctar Diakhaby due to injuries.
For Real Madrid, Eder Militao will miss out through illness, while Dani Carvajal and Martin Odegaard look likely to miss the game through injury.
