BETTING & MATCH PREDICTION
On Sunday night, Juventus will be looking to kick off their Serie A campaign with a victory as they make the trip to Udinese.
The home team have lost last season’s star player Rodrigo de Paul to Atletico Madrid. The team from Udine have brought in young German attacking midfielder Lazar Samardzic from RB Leipzig, but the 19-year-old may be one for the future rather than the present.
Udinese ended last season with a poor run of form in the Italian top-flight, which saw them yield just two wins from their last 12 games of the season. They also failed to win any of their final five league matches of the campaign, suffering four defeats in the process.
The Bianconeri endured a particularly bad run of home form towards the end of the campaign, failing to win any of their last six home matches while suffering five defeats in the process.
The summer saw the exit of Andrea Pirlo as the visitor’s head coach and the return of Max Allegri to the Bianconeri’s dugout. There is confidence amongst those connected with the club from Turin that they will achieve far more than last season’s fourth-place finish in the new campaign.
There have not been too many incomings at the club, although they did manage to recently seal a deal for Italian international central midfielder Manuel Locatelli. They have also signed highly-rated young Brazilian forward Kaio Jorge from Santos.
Juventus ended last season in fine form in Serie A, winning four of their final five games in the Italian top-flight, while scoring at least two goals in all four victories. This looks like the ideal game to continue that positive momentum.
Udinese’s only likely absentee is Ilija Nestorovski, who has a knee injury.
Juventus are without the suspended Weston McKennie, while Adrien Rabiot and Arthur could miss out through injury.
The return of Allegri will give Juventus a lift and we are backing the team from Turin to win the battle of the Bianconeri’s.
PREDICTION – AWAY WIN
