On Saturday night, Troyes host PSG at the Stade de l’Aube in Ligue One, as the former champions look to kick off the new campaign with a victory.

The Ligue One newcomers face a baptism of fire after winning Ligue.2 last season. The home side has been in and out of the top-flight in recent years, with their last appearance coming back in season 2017/18.

Head coach Laurent Battles has done an excellent job with the minnows and they will hope to cause a massive shock in gameweek one. They have certainly been busy strengthening their squad signing Metinho, Mama Balde, Rominigue Kouame and Issa Kabore amongst others.

Troyes have a woeful recent record against PSG, as they have lost their last seven meetings with the Parisians in all competitions. They have also scored just once in their last six games against PSG.

While the Champions League will be PSG’s main priority this season, reclaiming the Ligue One title from Lille will also be an objective for Mauricio Pochettino and his team.

The former French champions have been busy in the transfer market bringing in Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi and Georginio Wijnaldum. The quartet makes the Parisians an even more formidable team.

PSG have enjoyed a decent pre-season campaign, although they did suffer a 1-0 defeat against reigning champions Lille in the French Super Cup. They will be hoping that the result is not a sign of things to come this season.

Troyes have no reported injuries, so Laurent Battles should have a fully-fit squad to choose from.

PSG look set to be without Juan Bernat, Rafinha and Colin Dagba through various injuries. It remains to be seen if PSG’s new signings will start this clash.
