On Sunday afternoon, Tottenham and Arsenal clash in what could be a pivotal north London derby when it comes to determining who clinches that all-important fourth Champions League spot in the Champions League for next season.

TOTTENHAM

Antonio Conte’s team recorded a 3-1 home win over Morecambe in the third round of the FA Cup last time out. The victory came on the back of a 2-0 defeat against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.

When it comes to the Premier League, Spurs are unbeaten in eight league matches under Conte, having recorded five wins in the process. Their last Premier League game on New Year’s Day produced a 1-0 win at Watford.

The recent improvement in form has moved Spurs to within two points of their arch-rivals, who currently occupy fourth place in the table. However, Conte’s team have two games in hand on their local rivals.

ARSENAL

The Gunners have now lost back-to-back games in all competitions after a 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup at the weekend. The previous weekend Mikel Arteta’s side suffered a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of league leaders Manchester City.

The defeat against the reigning champions also ended a four-game winning run for the visitors in the Premier League.
Arsenal have won their last two away games in the Premier League, scoring nine goals in the process against Leeds and Norwich. However, they had lost their previous three league matches on their travels.

Tottenham look set to be with centre-back Cristian Romero and wingers Heung-Min Son and Steven Bergwijn due to injuries, while Eric Dier is also a fitness doubt.

Arsenal are without Thomas Partey, Nicolas Pepe, Mohamed Elneny and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as the quartet are at the AFCON. They also have fitness doubts over Granit Xhaka, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Emile Smith-Rowe.
