Sweden take on Ukraine in the Round of 16, with the home side looking to keep up their impressive unbeaten record.

SWEDEN

The hosts surprised everyone in the group stages when they finished top of Group E. They won two and drew one which was with Spain and have a fantastic chance of making it to the quarter-finals.

Sweden made it to the semi-finals of Euro 92, but since then have made the knockout stages just once, in 2004. Getting to the Round of 16 this year is a great achievement and they will fancy their chances to go further.

Sweden have put in three good performances so far, particularly at the back. Their defence has been very impressive, with Lindelof and Danielsson forming a good partnership. Forsberg has found some form after netting twice in the last game also.

UKRAINE

Despite getting just three points, Ukraine have made it to the knockout stages of Euro 2020. They were beaten by Austria and the Netherlands, but a 2-1 win over North Macedonia was enough to make them one of the four best third-place teams.

Ukraine actually have a fantastic record in the European Championships, but this is from when it first started. They won the very first one and have been second twice. However, in the last thirty years, they haven’t once made it out of the group stages.

Getting here by beating North Macedonia isn’t really a big achievement. However, they now have a chance of getting to the quarters. Against Sweden, it’ll be a tough game but one they could get a huge win from!
