In the Premier League’s early kick-off on Saturday, the league’s top two teams clash at the Etihad Stadium, as Manchester City host Chelsea.

MAN CITY

The Citizens are seemingly running away with the Premier League title, as Pep Guardiola’s team are currently ten points clear of their second-place visitors at the top of the table.

A 4-1 weekend win at Swindon Town in the FA Cup third round was their seventh straight victory in all competitions. City have also won their previous 11 matches in the Premier League, scoring at least two goals in nine of the wins.

The reigning English champions have now won their last five home games in the English top-flight while scoring at least two goals in four of the five victories.

CHELSEA

The Blues are unbeaten in their last ten games in all competitions. However, Thomas Tuchel’s team have drawn half of those unbeaten matches, which has played a part in them falling so far behind City in the race for the Premier League title.

In fact, they have drawn four of their last five matches in the English top-flight, having also kept just one clean sheet in their last nine matches in the Premier League.

Chelsea have a good recent away record in the Premier League, winning six of their last eight matches on their travels. However, they have also won just one of their last three away games in the English top-flight.

One positive for Chelsea is that the Blues have won three of the last four meetings with the reigning champions. A three-game winning run was ended by a 1-0 defeat by City at Stamford Bridge earlier this season though.

Manchester City are with Riyad Mahrez, who is at the AFCON. Meanwhile, John Stones, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Phil Foden are also slight fitness doubts, but could all still feature.

Chelsea are without goalkeeper Edouard Mendy who is at the AFCON. Full-backs Reece James and Ben Chilwell both look set to miss out through injury. Thiago Silva, Trevoh Chalobah and N’Golo Kante are also fitness doubts.
