France take on Switzerland in the Round of 16, with the tournament’s favorites not looking for an early exit!

FRANCE

With just one win in three, it wasn’t the ideal group stage for France, despite finishing top. They managed to beat Germany in the first game but drew with both Hungary and Portugal. France have a lot more to give and we expect to see it from now until the end.

It has been a successful time under Deschamps. He has guided them to World Cup victory in 2018, two years after coming runners up in Euro 2016. If he could take them to another final, it would be a fantastic achievement.

France have the best squad in the competition and players like Pogba, Kante and Benzema have really been at the top of their game so far. Mbappe is yet to score but he is one of the most exciting players in world football right now and will no doubt have some say on this competition.

SWITZERLAND

One of four sides to get into the last 16 having finished third is Switzerland. They got third place in the final game of the group stages, beating Turkey 3-1, their only other point coming against Wales.

Switzerland have been to just four European Championships in their history. Their best finish came at the last one in 2016, which they have matched this year. It’ll be the shock of the tournament so far though if they manage to better it this year.

Switzerland were very disappointing against Italy but put in a performance when it mattered against Turkey. Shaqiri has been their best player so far and has scored twice in their only win.

Dembele is the only player out for France, who is also set to miss the whole competition.
