On Sunday afternoon, Celta Vigo host high-flying Real Sociedad at the Balaidos in the Spanish top-flight, as the visitors look to maintain their stellar start to the league campaign.

The home side has made an unconvincing start to the new Spanish top-flight campaign, as they have recorded just one league win this season. A 1-1 draw at Levante last time out in La Liga means that Celta have now failed to win in five league games.

The draw at least ended a run of three straight league defeats and a poor defensive run that had seen Oscar Rodriguez’s team concede at least three goals in the three straight defeats.

The Galicians recent home displays have not helped them pick up results, as they have recorded just one victory in seven La Liga games at the Balaidos.

La Real have made an impressive start to season 2020/21 in La Liga, picking up 14 points from their seven league matches. Imanol Alguacil’s team head into this game on the back of four wins from their previous five matches in the Spanish top-flight.

A 4-1 home win over Huesca last time out in La Liga also saw the team from San Sebastian score at least three goals for the fourth time in their last five league outings.

The visitors are six games unbeaten on their travels in La Liga, including winning their last two away games in the Spanish top-flight 3-0 at Elche and Real Betis.

Celta Vigo are without Joseph Aidoo through illness, while Sergio Alvarez, Hugo Mallo, Kevin Vazquez and Ruben Blanco could all miss out through injury.

Real Sociedad are expected to be without Asier Illarramendi and Alex Sola through injury.
