Burnley vs

On Boxing Day, Burnley host Everton at Turf Moor in a big game at the bottom of the Premier League.

BURNLEY

The team from Lancashire are now just two points from safety and have games in hand on the teams above them in the table due to recent postponements. The Clarets last outing was a 0-0 home draw against West Ham on 12th December.

The result means that Sean Dyche’s team has now failed to win in their last five Premier League matches.

However, four of those winless matches have finished in draws. The Clarets most recent games have also been tight, low-scoring affairs, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five matches.

EVERTON

The Toffees have been severely injury-hit in recent months, which has had a big effect on their results. A 1-1 draw at Chelsea last time out, despite fielding a youthful team was certainly a respectable result.

However, the draw means that the Toffees have won just one of their last 11 matches in the Premier League. A defeat at Turf Moor would put the hosts five points behind Rafa Benitez’s men, with two games in hand.

Everton have been poor travellers this season. The men from Merseyside have failed to win in their last seven away games in the Premier League. In fact, they have won just one of their last 11 matches in the English top-flight. The Toffees have also kept just one clean sheet in their last ten away games in the Premier League.

Burnley vs Everton Team News

Burnley have no definite absentees for this clash, although Maxwell Cornet and Dale Stephens are fitness doubts.

Everton look set to once again be without Yerry Mina, Andros Townsend, Tom Davies and Richarlison through injury. Striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is close to a return from injury, but this game may come too soon for him.

The likes of Demarai Gray and Allan are expected to return to the squad after missing the Chelsea game.

Burnley vs Everton Match Prediction

Neither of these teams’ heads into this game in great form, although Everton will take heart from the draw at Chelsea last time out. The Clarets have been draw specialists and we are predicting that this will game will finish in another tight, low-scoring draw.
