On Saturday afternoon, Bournemouth host Southampton at the Vitality Stadium in the quarter finals of the FA Cup.

AFC BOURNEMOUTH

The Cherries are in mixed form of late, with three wins in their last six games in the Championship. They beat Swansea 3-0 in their last game to go two points off of the Play-Off places.

Bournemouth are the highest priced side remained in the FA Cup at 50/1. No one expects them to win it and they probably don’t either. However, a trip to Wembley is on the cards here and with Southampton out of form, Bournemouth will fancy their chances here.

Despite going down to the Championship, Bournemouth still have a good squad. Wilshere and Lerma play together in the midfield who both have lots of Premier League experience. The hosts might not see as much of the ball as they do usually so will need to be clinical in front of goal.

SOUTHAMPTON

The Saints picked up their fourth loss in five games last time out, losing to Brighton 2-1 in the Premier League. It was a disappointing performance from Southampton, who are still struggling with injuries.

Hassenhutl’s side are just seven points from safety. All it takes is for Fulham to win and them to lose the next game, for them to be pulled into a relegation fight. An FA Cup run would be fantastic for the fans, but staying in the Premier League, has to be the priority.

The Southampton side of late near enough picks itself. Even though they don’t have many players available, they will still play the same way. This could be a good game for them to build confidence as they are playing a team in the league below and will be expected to win.

TEAM NEWS

Bournemouth look set to be without David Brooks, Lewis Cook and Adam Smith.

Southampton still have key players missing in Ings, Romeu, Smallbone, Walcott and Obafemi.
