On Sunday night, Napoli and Milan clash at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, in what could prove to be a pivotal clash in the race for the Scudetto.

NAPOLI

Luciano Spalletti’s team moved to the top of Serie A last weekend after a 2-1 win at Lazio. The victory moved the Azzurri level on points with Milan, but above the Rossoneri courtesy of a superior head-to-head record. They are also two points clear of third-place reigning champions Inter, who have a game in hand.

The victory at Lazio means that the Azzurri are unbeaten in their previous eight league matches, having recorded five victories in the process.

Napoli are unbeaten in their last three home games in Serie A, having recorded two wins and a draw. Their recent home matches in the Italian top-flight have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five matches.

MILAN

The Rossoneri are unbeaten in their previous five Serie A matches, but they have won just twice in the run. Last time out in the Italian top-flight, Udinese held Stefano Pioli’s team to a 1-1 draw. It was the visitor’s second straight draw in the Italian top-flight.

Those two straight draws could be costly, though, as neighbours and reigning champions Inter are still just a point adrift of the visitors, with a game in hand on Pioli’s team.

Milan have been strong on their travels of late in Serie A, as the Rossoneri are six games unbeaten away from home in the league, having recorded four wins.
