On Saturday evening, Napoli host reigning Italian champions Inter, in what could be a massive game in the race for the Scudetto in Serie A.

Luciano Spalletti’s team are in second place in the table, trailing the league leaders and Saturday’s opponent by a point. However, the Nerazzurri have a game in hand, so it is still very much advantage Inter in the title race.

Napoli may just have hit form at the right time to face the leaders, as they are unbeaten in five Serie A matches, having recorded four straight victories in the process. 

The Azzurri has also won their last two Serie A games at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. However, they had previously recorded three straight home defeats in the Italian top-flight. 

Inter

The Nerazzurri looked comfortable at the top of the table until a surprise 2-1 defeat against arch-rivals Milan in the Derby della Madonnina. The defeat ended a 14-game unbeaten run for Simone Inzaghi’s team in the Italian top-flight. This is a tough game, but if they record a victory then they will once again look comfortable at the top of the Serie A table. 

Inter are six games unbeaten on their travels in the Italian top-flight, recording five wins and two draws. A big factor in that good away form has been Inter’s defensive displays. In fact, they have conceded just once in those six unbeaten away matches. The Nerazzurri have also scored at least two goals in ten of their last 13 league games on their travels.

Napoli are expected to welcome Senegal pair Kalidou Koulibaly and Andre Zambo Anguissa back from international duty, while Mexican winger Hirving Lozano looks set to miss out through injury. 

Inter are likely to be missing new signings Felipe Caicedo and Robin Gosens through injury, along with Argentinian forward Joaquin Correa.
