On Saturday night it’s Lazio vs Atalanta go head-to-head at the Stadio Olimpico, in potentially one of the most eye-catching fixtures of the Serie A weekend.

LAZIO

Maurizio Sarri’s team ended a short poor run of form last time out by recording a 3-0 win at rock bottom Salernitana. The game saw the home team’s prolific recent scoring form continue, as the Biancocelesti have now scored at least three goals in four of their last five league matches.

Their recent patchy form has contributed to the Eagles falling seven points behind their fourth-place opponents in the table. A home win would open the race for the final Champions League spot in Serie A.

Lazio have been difficult to beat on home soil of late Serie A, having lost just one of their last 23 league games at the Stadio Olimpico.

ATALANTA

The Nerazzurri have experienced mixed fortunes of late in Serie A. However, the visitors have lost just once in their previous 16 matches in the Italian top-flight. One win in their last four league games is not a great record. A goalless draw at home against reigning champions Inter last time out was not a terrible result though.

La Dea have been outstanding on their travels in Serie A of late, as they are 17 away games unbeaten, having recorded 13 victories in the process. Gian Piero Gasperini’s team have been particularly potent on their travels, scoring at least two goals in seven of their last nine matches away from Bergamo.

Lazio are without the suspended Danilo Cataldi, while Pedro, Toma Basic, Andre Anderson, Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro and Francesco Acerbi could all miss out through injury or illness.

Atalanta look set to be without Rafael Toloi, Joakim Maehle, Ruslan Malinovskyi, Duvan Zapata, Robin Gosens and Josip Ilicic through injury.
