BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Saturday night, Real Betis host Barcelona at the Estadio Benito Villamarin, in what could be an exciting clash at the top of La Liga.
Manuel Pellegrini’s team are just two points outside the Europa League spots in the Spanish top-flight. A 1-0 home win over Osasuna last time out means that the Andalusians are unbeaten in five outings in the Spanish top-flight.
Los Verdiblancos have been relatively prolific of late, scoring two goals in three of their last four league matches.
The home side has also been hard to beat at the Villamarin, as they are unbeaten in five away matches in the Spanish top-flight, recording three wins and two draws. Their recent home games have been relatively tight affairs, as five of their last six league matches have produced under 2.5 goals.
Betis have won just one of their previous 13 meetings with Barcelona in all competitions.
The Catalan giants seem to be on the road to recovery after an underwhelming start to Ronald Koeman’s career as head coach. The Blaugrana are currently ten games unbeaten in La Liga, having recorded eight victories.
A 2-1 win over Athletic Club last time out in La Liga means that Barcelona have recorded five straight league wins. The good run has moved Koeman’s team up to second place in the table, but they are still ten points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid.
The Blaugrana’s recent away form has also been particularly impressive, as the visitors have won their last five league matches on their travels, scoring at least two goals in four of their last five away matches in La Liga.
Betis look set to be without several players through injury, including Claudio Bravo, Marc Bartra, Diego Lainez, Victor Camarasa and Dani Martin.
Barcelona are expected to be without Sergino Dest, Gerard Pique, Ansu Fati, Philippe Coutinho and Moussa Wague through injury.
