On Saturday evening, RB Leipzig host Dortmund at the Red Bull Arena in a top of the Bundesliga table clash, as the home side look to enhance their title chances.
Die Roten Bullen are second place in the table, just two points behind league leaders and reigning champions Bayern Munich. They are also three points clear of third-place Bayer Leverkusen.
Julian Nagelsmann’s team are eight games unbeaten in the German top-flight, having recorded five victories in the process. Last time out in the Bundesliga, they recorded a 1-0 win at Stuttgart. The win saw the home team record their fifth straight clean sheet in the league.
Leipzig have been strong on home soil of late in the German top-flight, as they have won six of their last seven games. A 0-0 draw with Koln in their last home match in the Bundesliga ended a six-game winning run at the Red Bull Arena.
BVB have been inconsistent of late, winning just two of their last six games in the Bundesliga. However, a 2-0 win over Wolfsburg last time out will certainly have lifted spirits within in the club. Despite the win, the visitors trail the second-place home side by six points and leaders Bayern Munich by a further two points.
The victory last time out saw Dortmund record their first clean sheet in eight games in the Bundesliga. Highly-rated English winger Jadon Sancho also scored his first league goal of the season against the Wolves.
Dortmund have enjoyed mixed fortunes on their travels, but they have won four of their last six away matches in the Bundesliga. A 2-1 defeat at Union Berlin in their last away game in the top-flight ended a five-match unbeaten run away from home.
RB Leipzig head into this clash with several possible absentees through injury, including Benjamin Henrich, Fabrice Hartmann, Christopher Nkunku, Konrad Laimer, Ibrahima Konate, Justin Kluivert and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Dortmund are expected to be without Marcel Schmelzer, Thorgan Hazard and Youssoufa Moukoko.
