BETTING & MATCH PREDICTION
On Saturday evening, the Bundesliga’s top-two RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich go head-to-head at the Red Bull Arena, in what could be a vital game in the race for the German top-flight title.
Die Roten Bullen are second in the table, trailing the visitors and reigning champions by four points. A win in this clash would throw the title race wide open. Julian Nagelsmann’s team head into this clash on the back of an eight-game unbeaten run in the Bundesliga, having recorded seven wins.
A key to Leipzig’s title tilt this season has been their defensive solidity, as they have the best defensive record in the German top-flight. A record of five clean sheets in their previous eight league outings illustrates their stellar defensive record.
RB Leipzig have a poor record against Bayern, as they have beaten the Bavarians just once in their 11 meetings in all competitions.
The reigning champions are once again on top of the Bundesliga tree. However, Hansi Flick’s team know that this could be a pivotal game in their defence of the German top-flight title. Bayern head into the game on the back of four straight Bundesliga wins, having scored at least three goals in each of the wins.
Polish forward Robert Lewandowski has been at his electric best in those wins, scoring nine times in the four wins. The 32-year-old may not get a chance to add to his tally as he is a doubt after picking up an injury on international duty.
Leipzig could be without Marcel Halstenberg due to illness, while Dominik Szoboszlai, Konrad Laimer and Angelino could miss out through injury.
Bayern’s biggest injury worry is Lewandowski’s fitness. Alphonse Davies is suspended, while Douglas Costa, Ron-Thorben Hoffmann and Corentin Tolisso could miss out through injury.
