A recent poor run of form has hindered their survival chances, as they have failed to win in four Premier League matches, having also suffered three straight defeats in the English top-flight. The Clarets have been poor at both ends of the field of late, conceding at least two goals in their last three league outings, while also failing to score in the run.

MAN CITY

Despite holding a healthy lead at the top of the table just a few months ago, the reigning champions are now just one point clear of second-placed Liverpool in the title race. In fact, Pep Guardiola’s team could be second-place in the table by the time this game kicks off with Jurgen Klopp’s team hosting Watford in the early kick-off.

City’s recent league form has been inconsistent by their ultra-high standards in the Premier League, as they have won just two of their last four matches in the English top-flight. Last time out, Crystal Palace held the reigning champions to a goalless draw at Selhurst Park.

The draw at Palace means that the Citizens are unbeaten in their last 14 away games in the Premier League, a run dating back to the opening weekend of the season.

Burnley are without the suspended Nathan Collins, while Johann Berg Gudmundsson looks set to miss out through injury. Ben Mee, Erik Pieters and Matej Vydra are also fitness doubts. Manchester City’s only definite absentee is Portuguese centre-back Ruben Dias, who is still recovering from a hamstring issue.
