It’s the Netherlands vs the Czech Republic on the 27 of June, with the two sides fighting it out for a place in the quarter-finals.

NETHERLANDS

The Netherlands qualified for the knockout stages of Euro 2020 having finished top of their group. They won all three games, scoring at least two goals in each game. Without Van Dijk, they don’t look as strong, but in attack, it is looking promising.

This is their first international tournament since 2012, so for the majority of this squad, it’s a new experience. They won the competition back in 1988 and are on the right side of the draw to give it another go this year.

The bookmakers have the Dutch as favorites to win the game. A view that is hard to counter. Their forwards have found good form with Wijnaldum and Depay finding the net both more than once. If they perform as they did in the groups, it should see them go through.

CZECH REPUBLIC

The Czech Republic were one of the four sides to get through to the next round after finishing in third. They got four points in their group, beating Scotland and drawing with Croatia.

In Euro 2012, they didn’t make it out of the group’s stages, so have already gone one better this year. In 1996 they finished runner up, and with this year’s final also being at Wembley, could that be a bit of good luck?

The Czech Republic does have an underrated squad, with West Hams Coufal and Soucek both big parts of the team. Roma’s Schick has also scored three times so far, one of which was 45 yards out, so he can’t be under-estimated.
