Wolves Win Inaugural ePremier League Invitational
Wolves and Diogo Jota win the very first ePremier League Invitational, beating Trent Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool in the final!
With football currently taking a break, FIFA 20 stood up and gave us some live sport, kind of. All 20 Premier League clubs were represented, with 18 players and singers Tom Grennan (Man United) and Josh Franchesci (Arsenal) taking part.
The two singers in the competition both went out in the second round. Tom Grennan was beaten 8-1 by Trent Alexander-Arnold, whilst Dwight McNeil beat Josh Franchesci 3-1.
Man City’s Raheem Sterling have a tough journey through the competition, having to play against Everton and Liverpool. He beat Andre Gomes 4-2 in the quarter-finals but lost to Trent 3-2 in a very close semi-final.
The other player to join Trent and Liverpool in the final was Wolves’ Diogo Jota. He comfortably beat Dwight McNeil 4-1 in the semi-final.
Unfortunately though, the final wasn’t like the other games and there was a lack of goals. After 90 mins it was 1-1 between Liverpool and Wolves, which meant Golden Goal. Unlike real football, this was to be played in a second match, not just 30 mins then penalties.
Both players created chances but it was Jota who would take the crown for the first ePremier League Invitational. He scored the Golden Goal in the 67th minute with his striker partner Raul Jiminez.
This was a fantastic event organised by FIFA 20 and Sky Sports. It may not have been the real game, but it gave fans something to shout about!

Will Newcastle be the side to watch in the next competition?
A lot of the time with FIFA, the team is just as important as the person controlling them. Recently there have been reports that Newcastle is in the middle of a huge takeover.
The new owners make Man City’s look like a small team. They are worth in excess of £300 billion and could add some serious quality to the side from the North-East.
A FIFA team with Bale, Cavani and Vidal in would be very hard to beat. Currently, these are some of the players linked with Newcastle if the take over happens. This could make Newcastle a very good team in the Premier League and the ePremier League.
Paddy Power has odds available on who will join them before 31st January 2021. On top of this, they are also offering odds on players to join new clubs this summer.
Paul Pogba and Phillipe Coutinho are jus two players rumoured with big-money moves.
