The Premier League season is slowly drawing in and the PFA Player Of The Year will soon be chosen with Liverpool players dominating the odds!

The PFA Player Of The Year award is a prestigious award given out at the end of the season. It is chosen by Premier League players who all vote for who they thought was the best player that year.

Liverpool have won it for the last two seasons and with Salah and Van Dijk and it looks like they’re going to do it again this year. If they manage this, it’ll only be on the second club to have won the award three times in a row after Man United done it twice.

Sadio Mane (6/4)

Mane has had a very good season for Liverpool with 13 goals and six assists so far. Even though it doesn’t look like he’ll match last seasons tally of 22 goals, this season has been arguably better. He has stepped up for his side in big moments putting in fantastic performances for Liverpool when they’ve really needed it. Mane won Player Of The Month for November with three goals in three games with one against Man City. He will no doubt get more goals this season and will be pushing to win his first-ever PFA Player Of The Year award, after winning his first African Player Of The Year last month.

Jordan Henderson (10/3)

The Liverpool captain and midfielder has had the season of his life. Many have questioned over the years how much he is needed in the Liverpool midfield but this year he has silenced his critics. Henderson has three goals and five assists and has been undroppable. Fabinho was injured halfway through the season but they didn’t miss him as Henderson filled the role easily. He has shown his versatility by playing two positions and when he was injured in the last game his side conceded two and hugely missed him. Not a winner a lot of fans want to see but he would be a worthy one.

Kevin De Bruyne (10/3)

Last season was a disappointing year for De Bruyne personally after he was injured and missed a large part of it. This season he has returned and is back to his best. He has eight goals and 16 assists this season in 26 games. The record for assists by a player in a Premier League season is 20 set by Theirry Henry in 2003/04. What could hinder De Bruyne’s chances of winning the award is how far behind Man City are to Liverpool. However, there is no disputing he’s the best player in the league and if it’s chosen on that, he should be the first Man City player to ever win it.

Virgil Van Dijk (7/2)

Last years winner is obviously up there again. This season he has managed the most passes in the league with over 2100, 300 more than any other player. He has scored four times this season, with one of them coming against United. Van Dijk has played every single minute this season and arguably hasn’t had a bad one. Liverpool have only conceded 17 goals this season, with the next fewest being Leicester on 27. After such a good first full season at Liverpool, this is now what we have come to expect from the Dutch centre-back but it’s definitely something that shouldn’t be overlooked.
