The Premier League is littered with promising young talent who have bright futures ahead, but who is the favourite to win this year PFA Young Player Of The Year?

Winning the PFA Young Player Of The Year award is a great achievement for any footballer. Players who win the award, go on to have fantastic careers and usually win many trophies. Recent winners of the award are Sterling, Hazard, Kane and Bale to name a few.

Like the PFA Player Of The Year award, it is voted for by fellow professionals. Players have to be 23 at the start of the season to be able to win the award.  The most recent winner of the award was Sterling in 2019. The 2021 winner was Man City forward Phil Foden.

Jadon Sancho (10/3)

The new £75 million Man united forward is favourite to win the award in his first season in the Premier League. He should start most games for his new club and is one of the most exciting forwards in world football. Sancho has got into double figures for assists in the last three seasons and his lowest goal return has been eight, with even scoring 17 one season. If he can replicate any of these season’s, he’ll take some beating!

Phil Foden (7/2)

The Stockport Iniesta is one of the most exciting players in the league. He won this award last season when he scored nine and assisted another five over the season. Foden is a fantastic player and once he is back from injury, we expect him to be back in the starting lineup. Being part of such a good side is an advantage for him as he will be able to express himself more often than most and has a good chance of winning the league.

Bukayo Saka (5/1)

One of the most exciting players at Euro 2020 was Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka. He has now been handed the number seven shirt at Arsenal and is a key part of their first team. Saka has shown he can do it on the big stage and Arsenal are going to need him this season. He has fantastic pace and dribbling which can harm any defence and is definitely going to be a star in years to come.

Mason Greenwood (7/1)

Greenwood has kicked off the 21/22 season the best way possible with a goal. He is being tipped to be Man United’s future striker and has been given the number 11 shirt. Many at Old Trafford say he is the best finisher at the club, which is some compliment with players like Cavani, Rashford and Martial there. He can score with either foot and has already shown us with 18 Premier League goals. At the age of just 19, he is surely going to win this award one day.

Emile Smith-Rowe (8/1)

Another Arsnelan player in with a chance this season is Smith-Rowe. Like Saka, Arsenal have handed him some responsibility and given him the number 10. Aston Villa tried to sign him this summer but Arsenal turned down a bid of £30 million, showing just how highly they rate him. Last season he had six goals and assists in 20 games, but we expect him to feature more this season.
