Paddy Power are giving away a free bet with every shot on target your top goalscorer selection has at this summer’s Euro 2020!
Euro 2020 is just over a week away with the action kicking off on June 11th at 20:00. Italy are taking on Turkey in the opening game but then it’s a couple of days more to wait before England start. Gareth Southgate has now finally announced his squad of 26, but changes could still be made if injuries occur in the two warm-up games.
One of the players in his squad is captain and striker Harry Kane. He had a fantastic tournament at the last World Cup, finishing with six goals and ending top goalscorer. For England to do well he is going to have to be on the same sort of form, but there are plenty of other players who could beat him to the top scorer award.
To make the battle for the top goalscorer even more interesting, Paddy Power has a fantastic offer available up until the kick-off of the first game. Every time your selection for top scorer hits the target, Paddy Power will give you a £1 free bet*!
Now, this may not sound a lot, but with players like Kane, Lukaku, Ronaldo, and Mbappe in the competition, each of them will be testing the goalkeepers out at any given opportunity. We’ll take a look at the odds for who will finish top goalscorer this summer and how far they will stay in the competition, giving them more chances to have shots on target.
Euro 2020 Top Goalscorer
Harry Kane – 11/2
The obvious choice for this bet would be to go with Harry Kane. He is one of the best strikers in the world right now and is playing in a home tournament for the favorites (5/1). Kane has shown in the past that he can do it at international tournaments, with six goals at the World Cup 2018.
He was in good form this season with 33 goals in all competitions and winning the Premier League Golden Boot, his most in the last three seasons. England aren’t in a particularly hard group, with Croatia, Czech Republic and Scotland. You would expect them to win this and Kane should be a big part of it. He likes to pick up the ball from deep and is confident with both feet, which will give him plenty of opportunities to get a shot on target at least!

Romelu Lukaku – 11/2
Enjoying the second-best scoring season of his career is Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian striker has taken his game to the next level since joining Inter Milan and is also already his countries record goalscorer with 59 at the age of just 28.
Lukaku is a handful for any defence to deal with due to his strength and power. But on top of this, he is also a very technically gifted player. When playing for Belgium it’ll only get easier for him in terms of chances he gets. Behind him, he will have De Bruyne and Hazard, two of the most creative players in world football on their day. Lukaku could well finish top goalscorer this summer, his only issue could be how long they stay in the tournament for with their defense having question marks around it.
Kylian Mbappe – 8/1
The French forward is probably the most exciting player in world football right now. He has everything in his game to be one of the best we’ve ever seen and at the age of just 22 is showing glimpses of it already. Mbappe is likely to play out wide for France, who we are surprised aren’t the favorites given their squad and the face they won the 2018 World Cup.
The PSG man got 42 goals for his club this season, but with no disrespect, it was in the French league. For France, he has 17 goals so far but doesn’t usually play in the number nine position. Karim Benzema is back now and the two will probably share the workload. Mbappe will get lots of chances to score due to his fantastic pace and dribbling ability.

Cristiano Ronaldo – 12/1
Age is just a number when it comes to Cristiano Ronaldo. He is still putting in fantastic performances at the age of 36 for Juventus and will fancy himself against anyone to finish top goalscorer. Ronaldo finished the season with 36 goals in all competitions and like Lukaku is his country record goalscorer with a staggering 103 goals.
He is known for not being the most generous with the ball and is confident to take on any shot from anywhere. On top of this, he also takes the set pieces for Portugal which will only give him more opportunities to hit the target!
