Marcus Rashford To Receive MBE
After a lot of hard work and successfully campaigning to government, Marcus Rashford has been included in the Queens Birthday Honours list and will receive an MBE!
Manchester United and England youngster Marcus Rashford has featured in the Queens Birthday Honours list for 2020. This means he will receive an MBE, which is given out for various reasons, one of which is for doing charitable work.
This summer Rashford campaigned for the Government to change their free school meals policy. Initially, they only gave free meals to children during school term time. Rashford proposed that this should be changed to all year round and managed to get the law on it changed.
The United forward told of his experiences as a child growing up to convince the Government change was needed. On top of this, he also set up a task force of the leading supermarkets to help fight child food poverty. This has helped 1.3 million children in the UK to receive food all year round.
Earlier on in the year, Andy Robertson spoke about what a good job his footballing rival had done and even suggested he may be the first Man United player ever to get a standing ovation at Anfield!
On The Pitch
Manchester United will be hopeful that Rashford can be as successful on the pitch as he has been off the pitch this year. United are going through a tough period at the minute and need the forward to be at his very best.
Rashford only has one goal in the opening three games, as is five behind the league’s top scorers. He is priced at 40/1 to get this seasons Golden Boot and with 35 games remaining, it may not be a bad bet. Last season, Rashford got 17 goals but missed out on a large part of the season with a back injury. If he can get back to the form that saw him have his best scoring season for United, he’ll be right up there.
He scored this weekend for England in the 1-1 draw with Belgium. Rashford played in a special pair of Nike Mercurials, which had 40 messages written on them from children from three different schools across the UK.
No one more so than Solskjaer need’s Rashford to come back with his scoring boots still on. The Man United manager is currently the favourite to get the sack next in the Premier League at 2/1. His side have a tough month coming and there are rumours going around already about Pochetinno replacing and he is priced at 4/7 to be the next United manager.
