13 years since their huge takeover, Man City have finally reached the final of the Champions League, but can they go all the way?

Back in 2008, Abu Dhabi United Group bought Man City, with the aim of challenging their neighbors Man United. Earlier that year, the red side of Manchester won the Champions League and it has been City’s goal ever since.

The owners have spent over £1 billion on the side and have come very close to getting to the final since. In 2016 they were beaten in the semi-finals by Madrid, a side who they could face in the final in Istanbul. Since then, it has been a lot of quarterfinals and many wondering if Pep will ever take his City side to a European final.

Last night, they beat PSG once again, this time at home. They were 2-1 up from the first leg and won 2-0 last night. It was a fantastic performance from City with Riyad Mahrez getting both the goals for his side. City will now wait to see who comes out on top in the game between Chelsea and Real Madrid tonight.

There is no doubting that Man City are one of the biggest and best clubs in Europe, but this has always been the trophy that was missing. They haven’t won it yet and are a long way from doing so but will be the favourites in the final regardless of who they come up against.

Man City Reach Their First Champions League Final!

City are now 2/5 to win the competition and their price could change depending on who they face in the final. They have played Chelsea twice this season, once in the Premier League and once in the Fa Cup. City beat them 3-1 in the league but since Chelsea got a new manager, they have come out victorious winning 1-0 in the cup. The two sides meet this weekend in the league and should Chelsea get in the final, this weekend’s meeting will be a very interesting match. City would fancy their chances against Chelsea and have the far better squad. Tuchels side are 7/2 to win the competition this year.

Peps side last faced Real in the Round of 16 in last season’s competition. They beat the Spanish side 4-1 on aggregate, winning both legs. Zidane’s side is an ageing squad in comparison to Peps. However, what they have over them is the experience of winning Champions Leagues. A lot of the players in the current squad were part of the squad that won three in a row. This would be a huge help in the final and one that could see them win a fourth Champions League with Zidane which is at 11/2 on Betfair.
