Liverpool Are Champions Of England

Liverpool ground

Last night Liverpool were crowned Premier League champions for the first time when Chelsea beat Man City 2-1!

When Liverpool failed to beat Everton in Merseyside derby on Sunday night, many thought it would go down to the Man City vs Liverpool next week. City played Chelsea last night though, knowing only a win was good enough.

Chelsea took the lead in the first half through Pulisic, but De Bruyne equalised with a brilliant freekick. However, a moment of madness from Fernandinho who saved the ball on the line gave Willian a chance to seel all three points. As City had lost it now confirmed that Liverpool were Premier League Champions!

For Liverpool, the wait was finally over. They knew they were going to win the league with such a big points difference, it was just a matter of when. 30 years with no top-flight title had eventually come to an end.

All the Liverpool players were with each other in a hotel to watch the game and they celebrated afterwards. Jurgen Klopp and Jordan Henderson were both in tears when being interviewed. Liverpool fans also took to the streets outside Anfield to celebrate the momentous occasion.

Liverpool also set the record last night for the least amount of games to win a Premier League title. They can still go on to break numerous records this year such as the most points in a season, most wins in a season and highest margin of victory. With seven games to go, Liverpool still has a fantastic chance of breaking all these records.

Other Markets

Now the Premier League is wrapped up, it doesn’t mean you can’t still bet on it. There are loads of other markets still available to make the rest of the season still interesting for all fans.

Jamie Vardy is leading the way for top goalscorer at 13/8, but the new Premier League champion Mo Salah is just behind him at 7/2. Arsenals frontman and last years joint winner Aubameyang is at 4/1 with the other joint winner Mane at 15/2. The top goalscorer will be an interesting one as to whether Klopp rests Salah and Mane. The other two are needed by their clubs so can guarantee they’ll be starting.

Relegation is another interesting market. Norwich look set for the drop now at 1/50, but above them its all to play for. Bournemouth are priced at 1/3, but are only in the bottom three on goal difference. Aston Villa are in the same position as Bournemouth and they are priced at 4/11. West Ham who are on the same points as Villa and Bournemouth are at odds of 13/8. They haven’t looked good recently and could still well go down!

There are many more markets available such as Top 4 Finish, To Stay Up and Bottom Half Finish. All these can be found on Paddy Power who have the latest odds!
