After getting off to a better  start this season than they did in their title winning one, just how far can Leicester City go this season?

We are now ten games into the Premier League season and this top of table is shaping up the way we thought it would. Man City and Liverpool are fighting it out but they are also joined by Brendan Rodgers’ side. The Foxes are currently sitting third, just two points behind last seasons champions.

Rodgers took over at Leicester in February following the sacking of Claud Puel. When he took charge, Leicester were seen as a counter attacking side. Since then though he has changed their style of play to a more possession based side and they are now seeing the rewards.

This season they have won seven out of their 11 games, only losing twice. They have the joint best defence in the league along with the top goalscorer in Jamie Vardy. Rodgers has also helped them get off to a better start to the season than they did in 2015/16.

2019/20 trophy opportunities!

Rodgers would love to win a trophy in his first full season in charge and we think they are in with a good chance! The Premier League may be a big ask but they’ve done it before so why couldn’t they do it again? They are keeping up with the leagues elite and don’t looking like slowing down. Leicester are currently priced at at 40/1 on Betfred. They still have some of the 15/16 squad so the experience is their to do so, more than Liverpool at least!

In the EFL Cup they have drawn Everton. The Toffee’s are currently in a bad run of form and could easily be beaten. Left in the cup are Man United, Man City and Liverpool as well, however they may all focus on the league instead. On their day, Leicester can beat anyone and at 10/1 on Betfred they could be a great bet, especially considering they have no European football this year to focus on.

At 20/1 in the FA Cup they are bigger outsiders compared to the EFL Cup. Even though its in the early rounds of the FA Cup, all it takes is a few lucky draws. They have never won the FA Cup, last reaching the final in 1968/69. With the final of it being so late on in the year, they may be out of all other competitions and could fully focus on this one.

Currently at 11/10 to finish in the top four at the end of the season, Leicester fans couldn’t have dreamed of this. With Man United, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea having inconsistent form these are looking good for a Champions League spot next season.
