Fulham have will be playing in the Premier League next season after beating Brentford in dramatic style at Wembley in The Championship Play-Off final!
Last night, the richest game in football took place, The Championship Play-Off final. Whichever team won would be going to the Premier League. This is the richest game in football due to the money clubs receive from the tv rights and increased exposure. If Brentford won, they were set to earn £160 million over three years, if Fulham won they would be set to earn £125 million over the same time period.
Going into the game, Brentford were the favourites. They had been fantastic all season and had already beaten Fulham twice in the league. However, The Bee’s were going into it with a seed of doubt in their mind. They only needed four points from their last two games against sides in the bottom half of the table. Brentford somehow managed to lose these two games meaning West Brom got automatic promotion.
A win for Fulham would see them bounce back straight into the Premier League. However, they were going to have to do it without the services of their star man Aleksandar Mitrović. The Serbian was the top scorer in The Championship with 26 but missed the semi’s and was on the bench for the final.
The game was set to be a memorable one. Two good teams playing exciting football in front of an empty Play-Off final ground for the first time!

Fulham Heading To The Premier League!
After not being able to separate the sides after 90 minutes, the game went to extra time. It felt like it was going to take something special from one of the teams, and Joe Bryan did just that. He caught Raya off his line, from a free-kick that was in a cross position. It was clear that Bryan meant to score and after the game, he said they had spoken about this before.
Bryan was then in dreamland when he added a second goal with minutes to go. The left-back combining with Mitrovic and then slotting it underneath Raya. Brentford got one back but it was the last kick of the game. Fulham had somehow managed to stop a front three who scored 59 goals this season even having a look in last night.
Scott Parker’s side will be hoping it won’t be a repeat of the 18/19 season in which they were relegated from the Premier Leauge. They are currently the favourites on Paddy Power to be relegated at EVS. They will need to keep hold of Mitrovic as well as bringing in some experienced Premier Leauge players if they want to stay up next season.
