On the weekend, there was plenty of expected FA Cup magic as we saw some small clubs beat the top dogs in the country. In this tournament, we are accustomed to shock results and we have no doubt that this years competition will fulfil the previous patterns.

One underdog didn’t get the result they would have dreamed for as Tottenham travelled to Prenton Park to take on Tranmere Rovers. The visitors have been in great form recently and have even spurred on a title challenge in the Premier League. Tranmere held Spurs to a goalless encounter until the 40′ min when Cotdivorian defender, Serge Aurier produced a special kind of strike which the best in Europe can only imagine scoring.

During the halftime break, Poschittino must have given some great advice as for when his team returned to the pitch, everything they touched turned into a goal. First of which was Llorente who found himself with enough space to receive the ball from Son and divert it into the Tranmere goal. This would mark the beginning of Llorente’s hat-trick and it would take him only half an hour to complete it. Tranmere nearly got a goal back after Spurs’ second but the chance went missing.

By the 70′ minute mark Llorente had doubled up and got Tottenham’s fifth of the day. One minute later, Spurs regained possession and Lucas Moura spotted the giant Spanish striker and played the ball into his path which of course completed his second hat-trick for Tottenham Hotspurs since joining from Swansea City. The day wasn’t quite over for Tranmere, Kane was yet to come on and when he replaced Llorente, he too got on the scoresheet with a silky chip.
