Fans Clean Up Russia

It isn’t often we get a chance to praise football fans at the World Cup but this Summer a certain few have caught the attention. Traveling supporters from both Japan and Senegal have been spotted cleaning up their own fans mess after the final whistle.

Japan recorded a historical moment in the tournament on Tuesday after beating Columbia 2-1. They are the first Asian side to be a South American team in the Finals of the World Cup. Kagawa and Osako netted for Japan and despite an impressive free kick from Columbia, it wasn’t enough as the Japanese stole all three points. The culture of Japan is built up on respect and they are demonstrating that over in Russia.

Shortly after the video of Japan fans clearing up their mess surfaced, Senegal were next to get their bin-bags out. Following their 2-1 over a unimpressive Poland side, many fans stayed back after to offer a helping hand. Senegal are now joint top in Group H alongside Japan and I can see it sticking that way by the end of the Group Matches. Staff at the World Cup will be hoping they go through too!
