We are now down to the final four in this years FA Cup, but who are the favourites to win the oldest competition in football history?

Last season Arsenal furthered their position as the most successful club in the FA Cup when they beat Chelsea 2-1 in the final. This was their 14th FA Cup victory and the first trophy for new manager Mikel Arteta.

Even though the FA Cup isn’t as valued amongst the bigger clubs as it once was, it is still a huge competition. It is renowned for huge upsets and underdog stories as teams from the lowest division of English football can come up against those at the very top.

We are now down to the final two teams, with Chelsea and Leicester meeting in the final. Chelsea have won the FA Cup eight times in their history, the most recent of which came against Man United in 2018. Leicester on the other hand have never won the FA Cup, nor been to the final so this is brand new territory for them!

FA Cup 20/21 Odds (Betfair)

Chelsea – 4/7

Last years runners up will be looking to go one better this season. They are also in the semi-finals of the Champions League this season so it could well be a very successful one for the new manager.

Chelsea now have Thomas Tuchel in charge after sacking Frank Lampard. Tuchel would love to win a trophy in his first six months at the club and has a good enough starting eleven to do well in this competition. The new manager has had a brilliant start at his new club and has made them a much tougher side to beat.

Against Leicester, they are the favourites but will still be in for a tough game. Chelsea have played some fantastic football under their new manager and are incredibly disciplined. The last time they met, Chelsea were on the receiving end of a loss but they play a much different style under the new manager.

Leicester – 7/5

Since winning the Premier League, Leicester are yet to win a trophy. They have a good manager in Brendan Rodgers who has made them one of the better teams in the Premier League.

They are third in the league at the moment and are desperate to get in the Champions League. This is something they need to do if they want to go to the next step and start attracting big games. However, winning a trophy can help do this also and beating Chelsea to an FA Cup would be a big statement.

In the previous round, Leicester beat Southampton but also welcomed back James Maddison from injury. He is key to them doing well and their results have dropped since he went injured. It’s going to be a challenge for The Foxes, but they have already beaten Chelsea once this season and this will give them huge confidence to do it again.
