Europa League Results And Round Of 16 Draw
The Europa League Round Of 32 finished last night with some surprising results, with not all the British team making it through to the next round
Now the Premier League is even more competitive the Europa Leauge is massive. English teams usually will find it easier to win the competition than break into the top four. Man United and Arsenal made it no secret how important the competition was for them both, with it not looking like they’ll get top four this year.
As last night was the second leg of the Round Of 32, the Round Of 16 draw took place today. Only three British teams made it through, with some late goals sending two sides out of the competition. Four Premier League sides are still in the Champions Leauge but it’s only Man City who looks like they’re going through currently.

Espanyol vs Wolves
Wolves lost last nights leg 3-2 but were 4-0 on aggregate before last nights game began. This meant Wolves went through as 6-3 winners on aggregate. The travelling fans were given a scare last night when Espanyol scored early on, but a 22nd-minute goal from Adama Traore sealed the game. Wolves have a good side and will be confident of going even further in this competition. Olympiakos though will be a tough side and they showed that against Arsenal. Wolves are at 13/2 with Betway to go and win the competition.
Arsenal vs Olympiakos
Going into this game with a 1-0 lead, Arsenal will have been confident of winning this game. However, they struggled to break down the Greek side who managed to get one back early in the second half. The game went to extra-time and Arsenal thought they had won it with a 115th minute Aubameyang goal. Olympiakos though kept pushing and got a dramatic 119th-minute equaliser to send them through on away goals. This could mean no European football at all for Arsenal next season.
Braga vs Rangers
Gerrard’s side looked to be out of this one when Braga went 2-0 up in the first leg. A late comeback though including two goals from new signing Hagi put them 3-2 up going into the next game. Ranger were going have to be at their best to win, and they were! Ryan Kent got the only goal of the night to send through the Scottish side who will now face a tough fixture against Bayer Leverkusen in the next round. Betway have Gerrard’s side priced at 50/1 to win the Europa Leauge.
Celtic vs FC Copenhagen
A 1-1 draw away at the Danish side would have given Celtic the confidence that they would win this tie. However, much like Arsenal, they struggled to break them down. Copenhagen took the lead and were 2-1 up on aggregate when one of their defenders gave away a penalty. After a two-minute wait for VAR, Celtic were awarded the pen and they scored to go 2-2. Copenhagen kept pushing and scored twice in the 85th and 88th minute to go through, much to Rangers fans delight.
Man United vs Club Brugge
The first leg was less than impressive from United who came away lucky to have drawn 1-1. For the return fixture, United started Bruno and this seemed to make all the difference. From the first whistle, the Portuguese playmaker ran the show and gave United the lead, scoring a penalty. This was just one of the five goals scored that night by United. They went through 6-1 winners on aggregate and have drawn LASK in the next round. United are now the favourites on Betway at 7/2 to win the Europa League.
