The Champions League 2020/21 is now down to the final eight teams and we have the latest odds for who is going to finish top goalscorer this year.
Every year, the best players in the world fight it out to finish top goalscorer in the Champions League. It is the biggest competition in club football and it can really propel footballer careers to the next level.
As the best goalscorers in the world play in Europe, it’s a very tough call to say who will finish top. Last season, Lewandowski finished top with 15 goals as his side went on to win the Champions League.
Ronaldo though is the greatest goalscorer in the competition’s history. He has finished top a record seven times and has more goals than anyone with 134 goals in 176 games. On top of this, he also has the record for the most goals in one Champions League campaign with 17 in 2013/14.

Champions League Top Scorer 20/21
Erling Haaland – 8/11 – 10 goals
The 2020 Golden Boy winner is a goal-scoring machine and especially in the Champions League. He scored has 20 goals in his first 16 games in the competition setting a record. On top of this, Haaland has scored in every single group stage game he has played in and his current form is still right up there. He has 53 goals in 56 games for Dortmund and is proving to be one of the best strikers in the world already!
Haaland has ten goals so far so is in good form. Dortmund though are now out of the Champions League having lost to Man City in the quarter-finals. He has a two-goal cushion on the PSG striker, which may be enough.

Kylian Mbappe – 11/10 – 8 goals
Mbappe has flown up the top-scoring ranks recently with his hat-trick against Barcelona in the Round Of 16. He now has eight goals in the competition after scoring two more in the first leg of the quarter-finals against Bayern Munich. PSG are through to the semi-finals of the competition against Man City. This gives Mbappe at least two more games to catch up to Haaland and a third should they make it to the final.
Mbappe has the ability to score past any team. He is very fast, with fantastic close control and dribbling. He will fancy his chances against any defender in world football at the moment.

Neymar – 14/1 – 6 goals
The PSG forward set a new record this season when he became the first-ever player to score 20 goals for two different clubs in the Champions League. Neymar is on six goals in this season’s competition.
Against City, the Brazilian winger is going to need to be at his very best to help get his side through this round. With being four goals behind Haaland it is a big ask for Neymar to close the gap. However, he is a fantastic player and with potentially three games left, you wouldn’t be surprised if he did it!
Olivier Giroud – 66/1 – 6 goals
The Chelsea frontman has been their main man in front of goal in this season’s competition. Giroud got four of his goals in one game against Sevilla. He is a serious threat in the box, especially in the air. When things aren’t going the way of Werner, which is a lot, Giroud is usually the man who comes on to change things up.
Chelsea have gotten a lot further in this competition than many expect. The semi-final against Real is going to be a tough one. One thing that won’t help Giroud is the fact that he tends to come off the bench instead of starting.
