The draw for the 2020/21 Champions League took place yesterday, with Man United getting the toughest draw out of the English team

The 2020/21 Champions League campaign starts in just over two weeks and the draw for the group stages took place in Geneva yesterday. The four English teams in the competition are Liverpool, Man City, Man United and Chelsea.

As Liverpool won the Premier Leauge, they would go into Pot 1. The three remaining sides from England went into Pot 2. It is better to be in Pot 1 as it means you can’t be drawn against any of the league winners across Europe plus the Champions and Europa League winners.

The first matchday for this seasons Champions League starts on October 20/21st. The final matchday is on December 8/9. Like most games across Europe, there will be no fans at the group stages.

Out of the four sides from England, Man United got the toughest group. We’ll take a look at them all now and who’re the favourites to win the competition after the draw.

Champions League 20/21 Groups

Group A

Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Salzburg, Lokomotiv Moscow

Last years winners and the favourites for this year’s Champions League were drawn in the first group. Bayern are at 4/1 to win this years competition and if they perform like they did last year, they’ll have every chance. Atletico are at 22/1 and will need to win this group for a real chance of going all the way. They are very solid defensively and have now added Suarez to their attack.

Group B

Real Madrid, Shaktar Donetsk, Inter Milan, Borussia Monchengladbach

This is a tough group. Real are the best side in it and are at 11/1 to win their 14th Champions League. Inter though won’t be an easy team to play against in the group stages. They got to the final of the Europa Leauge this year but were beaten by Sevilla. Conte’s side are 25/1 to win the competition they last won under Mourinho in 2010.

Group C

Porto, Manchester City, Olympiakos, Marseille

Man City have got lucky with this draw, avoiding some of the bigger sides in Pot 1. They are the joint-favourites to win their first-ever Champions League at 4/1. Another side who last won it under Mourinho is Porto, back in 2004. Paddy Power aren’t giving them much of a chance at 125/1.

Group D

Liverpool, Ajax, Atalanta, Midtjylland

After losing some key players this summer, Ajax now won’t be the worry their once were for Liverpool. Klopp’s side are 11/2 to win their seventh Champions League and we think this looks a good price. Liverpool should finish top of this group with ease and get a good draw in the next round.

Group E

Sevilla, Chelsea, FK Krasnodar, Rennes

Chelsea will be another English side happy with their draw. The Europa Leauge winners Sevilla won’t be easy opposition, but one that a squad of Chelsea’s should beat. Lampard’s side are priced at 16/1 and they could finish top of this group, giving them a favourable draw in the next round.

Group F

Zenit St Petersburg, Borussia Dortmund, Lazio, Bruges

This is one of the tougher groups to call. Even though Zenit were Pot1, they could quite easily not make it through to the next round. Lazio and Dortmund had good seasons last year and Dortmund are at 17/1 to win the competition. They will need to keep hold of Jadon Sancho though as he is such a big part of their side.

Group G

Juventus, Barcelona, Dynamo Kyiv, Ferencvaros

The draw that has got everyone excited is this one. Ronaldo vs Messi for possibly the final time. Both sides are priced at 14/1 to win the competition and it really is a 50/50 as to who will win this group. We can’t wait for this one and hope it is as good as we expect.

Group H

Paris St-Germain, Manchester United, RB Leipzig, Istanbul Basaksehir

For Man United, this is a very tough group. PSG were last years finalists and have a great squad. They are at 10/1, whilst United are way out at 30/1. However, it won’t just be PSG that’s a tough game. Leipzig are a very good side and even though they have lost Werner, they will still play some great football and potentially send United into the Europa League.

On top of this, you can also bet on who will win each group. This can make it more exciting, as these bets only last until December and every point really matters.
