Can Man City Actually Win The Quadruple?

With the season coming closer to the end and City still in all four competitions, can Pep’s side actually win the quadruple?

In England, the top sides will compete for the four biggest trophies available. These are the Premier League, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the Champions League. No side has ever won all four in one season.

Back in 1999, Man United went the closet, winning the Premier Leauge, the FA Cup and the Champions League. This is something that they are very proud of as a club and this would make it even sweeter for City if they managed to win all four.

The Premier League is pretty much wrapped up with City 14 points clear, with eight games to go. Given their current form, it is highly unlikely that they will let it slip now. In the three remaining competitions, they are in, they are favourites and do have a real chance of winning them all, but what price does Paddy Power have to win them?

Man City To Win The Quadruple

EFL – 3/10

City are already in the final of the EFL Cup and face Spurs. Pep’s side will expect to win this and should do having given the difference in form of the two sides. City have won this competition for the last three consecutive years. This was also Spurs’ last trophy back in 2008, which shows the difference in the two sides when it comes to silverware. Spurs don’t have great squad depth, with Kane and Son likely to feature in most games. City on the other hand do and should make it four EFL Cup in a row.

FA Cup – 4/5

Pep’s side made it through to the semi-finals of the FA Cup having beaten Everton 2-0. They take on Chelsea, in what will be a very tough game. City have already beaten Chelsea once this season, with the scoreline finishing 3-0. If they can beat Chelsea, they will take on either Leicester or Southampton. This make the semi-final feel more like the final. City won the FA Cup last in 2019. Both of these sides are good defensively, but City are much better in creating chances and scoring goals, which is what it comes down to.

Champions League – 17/10

This is the big one Man City and the one they really want. Pep was brought in as a two-time winner of this competition with the main aim of him guiding City to their first one. It hasn’t happened for them yet, but many feel this is their best chance. They are currently 2-1 up against Dortmund in the quarters and then face the winner of Bayern and PSG should they get through. Winning the Champions League will be the toughest one out of the four competitions, but they have been favourites throughout and still are.

City To Win All Four – 5/1

There is a reason why this has never been done before and it’s because it’s extremely hard. However, with Man City they are surrounded by winners. They have won the three domestic trophies multiple times and Pep bridges the gap between them and the Champions League. When it comes to playing in different competitions and doing well you need quality and a lot of it. City have exactly that and due to their squad depth, it means they can compete in every competition. At 5/1 its a good price as we expect them to do the treble, its just whether they can finally get their hands on the biggest prize in club football.
