Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea on Saturday in the FA Cup Final to land new manager Arteta his first-ever trophy as a coach

On Saturday, it was the final of the FA Cup with a London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea taking place. This was going to be a special occasion for many reasons.

This was to be the first FA Cup final played without a crowd. It was still staged at Wembley, just without any fans of either club. On top of that, it was these managers first finals in England. Neither of them had ever won one before, so it was going to be the first trophy for someone.

Not many people saw this FA Cup final coming. Man United and Man City were the other two sides in the semi-final and both the favourites to get through.

Chelsea were the favourites for the final, having beaten Arsenal once this season and drawing on the other occasion. Lampard’s side also finished three places above Arsenal in the league. This wasn’t to worry the most successful side in FA Cup history though, looking for their 14th trophy…

Arsenal Make It 14

Thanks to their captain and star player, Arsenal won their 14th FA Cup on Saturday. He put in a great performance and scored both of his side’s goal coming back from 1-0 down early on.

Arteta was over the moon to win a trophy in his first season on management. After the game, he made a point of thanking Pep Guardiola in his interview. The Arsenal manager had worked with Pep as his assistant before moving to The Gunners.

Lampard will have to probably wait until next season now to win a trophy. His side is still in the Champions Leauge, however, they are 3-0 down to Bayern Munich and are priced at 250/1 to win the competition with Paddy Power.

Arteta will be hoping this win can help them kick on next season. They will be aiming to get back in the Champions Leauge. They are priced at 5/1 to get in the top four next season, and if they play like they did in the semi’s and the final, they will have every chance!
