Netherlands vs Ukraine
SUN 13 JUN 2021 – KO 20:00
BETTING & MATCH PREDICTION
It’s the Netherlands vs Ukraine on the 13th of June, and the match is scheduled to kick-off at 20:00. The game will take place in the Amsterdam Arena.
The Netherlands qualified for the Euro 2020 (21) finals by finishing second in Group C. Germany topped the group on 21 points, followed by the Dutch team on 19. They lost just once in the qualifiers, a 2-3 defeat at home to Germany.
The Netherlands seem in good form heading into the Tournament and will benefit from playing all their games in Amsterdam. The first match is against Ukraine, and they’ll also face Austria and North Macedonia in Group C.
The Dutch will be confident ahead of the clash; they’ve scored seven past Gibraltar recently and beat Latvia 2-0 in a World Cup Qualifier. They have previously played Ukraine on two occasions, winning once and drawing once.
The bookmakers have the Dutch as favourites to win the game. A view that is hard to counter. I expect Frank de Boer’s men to run out comfortable winners in their opening match. You can get 1/2 on the Netherlands winning with Paddy Power online.
Ukraine enjoyed a fantastic qualifying tournament for the European Championships. They topped the group that contained Portugal, Serbia, Lithuania and Luxembourg, finishing three points ahead of Portugal in the standing.
However, since qualification, Andriy Shevchenko’s team hasn’t won a game in their last six fixtures heading into this Tournament. The last victory coming against Spain (1-0) in the UEFA Nations League in October 2020.
In March 2021, they drew 1-1 with Kazahstan, 1-1 with Finland and held France to another 1-1 draw. So it seems that the Ukraine side isn’t easy to beat, but they can’t win games. The form book suggests that Shevchenko’s men will find it hard going against a talented Dutch side. The bookies are offering 5/1 on Ukraine winning this match.
