Napoli vs Sassuolo
SAT 25th JULY 2020 – KO 20:45
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Saturday night, Napoli host Sassuolo at the San Paolo in Serie A, in a game that could have implications on who finishes in the top-six and books a place in next season’s Europa League
After a good run of form following the appointment of Gennaro Gattuso as head coach, Napoli’s form has rather dipped in recent weeks. A 2-1 defeat at Parma last time out ended a five-game unbeaten run for the home side in Serie A. However, they have won just once in four league outings.
With just three Serie A matches remaining, Napoli are seventh-place in the table, just three points outside the Europa League spots.
The Azzurri have a strong recent home record in the Italian top-flight, as they are unbeaten in five league matches at the San Paolo, having recorded four wins in the process.
The visitors are eighth-place in the Serie A table but are now eight points behind the home side after a 2-1 home defeat against fifth-place AC Milan last time out. The loss means that Sassuolo can no longer finish in the Europa League spots this season.
The home defeat against the Rossoneri also means that Roberto De Zerbi’s team have failed to win in their previous three matches in Serie A. However, they have remained difficult to beat, losing just once in their previous nine league outings.
Sassuolo have been strong on their travels of late, as they are unbeaten in five away games in the Italian top-flight.
Napoli look set to be without Fernando Llorente and David Ospina through injury. For Sassuolo, Mehdi Bourabia is suspended, while Pedro Obiang, Vlad Chiriches, Gregoire Defrel and Filippo Romagna look set to miss out through injury.
