Monchengladbach vs Borussia Dortmund

Monchengladbach vs

On Friday night, Monchengladbach and Dortmund go head-to-head at Borussia Park in what could be a vital game in the race for the Champions League spots in the Bundesliga.

Marco Rose’s team seem to have turned their Bundesliga campaign around in the last few weeks. The Foals are unbeaten in four matches in the German top-flight, recording three wins in the process. In their last league outing, the home side recorded a 1-0 win over Werder Bremen.

Gladbach’s recent good run has put the Foals right back in the hunt for a top-four finish this season, as they are now just a point adrift of Friday’s night’s opponents, who are in that all-important fourth-spot.

Things seem to be positive for the home side. However, one negative heading into this clash is their recent record against Dortmund, as they have lost the last 12 meetings with BVB in all competitions.

The last few weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster for the visitors, whose results remain inconsistent. A few weeks ago a title challenge looked like it may be a possibility once again.

However, Edin Terzic’s team head into this clash on the back of a draw against Mainz and a 2-1 defeat by Bayer Leverkusen. They now seem more likely to be in a fight for a top-four spot than the title. Their record of two wins from their last five league games is certainly not going scared the teams above them.

Dortmund have won 11 of their previous 15 away matches in the Bundesliga, but have now suffered two defeats in their last three league matches on their travels.

Team News

Monchengladbach look set to be without several players through injury, including Valentino Lazaro, Rocco Reitz, Torben Musel, Breel Embolo, Famana Quizera, Jan Olschowsky and Mamadou Doucoure.

For Dortmund, Thomas Delaney is suspended, while Axel Witsel, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Marcel Schmelzer and Thorgan Hazard could all miss out through injury.

Match Prediction

Monchengladbach will fancy their chances of ending that poor recent run against the visitors. However, we believe that Dortmund will have enough to claim a draw at Borussia Park.

Odds 11/4
