Man Utd vs Burnley

SUN 18 APR 2021 – KO 16:00

Manchester United vs

On Sunday afternoon, Manchester United host Burnley at Old Trafford in the Premier League, with the hosts looking to make it five consecutive wins in the league.

The Red Devils go into the game in a good run of form in the Premier League with four wins in their last four. They beat Spurs last weekend 3-1, coming back from 1-0 down at half time.

United look like they have secured second place in the table now. They are seven points clear of Leicester, with seven games to go. Solskjaer can now turn his focus to the Europa League and winning his first trophy.

The hosts will want to win this and were able to rest some key players in the Europa League game in mid-week. Against Burnley earlier on in the season, it took a moment of magic from Paul Pogba to win the game and United will be hoping it’s a lot more straight forward this time!

The visitors are in a bad run of games, with just one win in their last six. This has seen them slump to 16th in the table, just seven points above the drop. They lost to Newcastle last week 2-1, which could be a huge result in determining who goes down this season.

Burnley should be doing better than they are this season. Their main issue is their lack of goals. With just 25 goals this season it’s no wonder they are where they are. If they stay up, they are going to have to invest or even change their style of play.

Against United though, it’ll be the standard 442 formation in which they will defend with two banks of for and look to play direct whenever they can. They are a very physical side and will look to unsettle the hosts. A draw for them is a good result so don’t be surprised to see a very defensive side on Sunday.

Team News

Manchester United look set to be without Bailly, Martial and Jones.

Brady and Barnes are both missing Sunday. Pope, Long and Rodriguez are all doubts.

Match Prediction

These two sides are in completely opposite runs of form and we don’t see this match changing them. We are backing United to win.

Odds 4/11
