BETTING & MATCH PREDICTION
On Thursday night, Manchester United and Arsenal clash at Old Trafford in what could be an intriguing encounter.
The Red Devils have appointed highly respectful German tactician Ralf Rangnick as their interim head coach until the end of the season. He replaces Michael Carrick who defeated Villarreal and drew 1-1 at Chelsea in his temporary spell in charge.
The men from Manchester need an injection of new ideas into the team, as they have won just once in their last eight Premier League matches. The Red Devils poor recent results have seen them drop to eighth place in the English top-flight table.
United have failed to win in their last four home games in the Premier League, having suffered three defeats in the process.
The Gunners are in good form for this potentially difficult clash, as a 2-0 home win over Newcastle last time out means that Mikel Arteta’s team have won four of their last five matches in the Premier League.
The team from north London have also suffered just one defeat in their previous ten matches in the league. Their recent good form has moved Arsenal up to fifth-place in the table, only outside the Champions League spots courtesy of an inferior goal difference to fourth-place West Ham.
One aspect that must improve if Arsenal are to challenge for the top-four this season is their away form, as the Gunners have won just two of their last six league matches on their travels.
Manchester United once again look set to be without Paul Pogba, Raphael Varane and Edinson Cavani through injury, while Luke Shaw is also a fitness doubt.
Arsenal could be without Sead Kolasinac and Granit Xhaka through injury, with Bukayo Saka also a fitness doubt.
This is a tough one to judge, as Rangnick won’t have much time to instil his philosophy into his new team. However, we are backing the home team to record a victory.
