BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Thursday night, Liverpool host Burnley at Anfield, in which the hosts will be looking to end their streak of four games without a win!
The reigning champions head into this clash on the back of a four-game winless run in the Premier League, which has seen the Reds drop to fourth in the table. Jurgen Klopp’s team drew 0-0 in their last game against top of the league Man United. This isn’t a bad result, but a win would have been huge!
Rather unusually for Liverpool, the home team has struggled for goals in the Premier League of late, finding the net just once in their last four league outings.
One thing that has not changed is Liverpool’s home form, as the Reds are unbeaten in 68 league games at Anfield, winning 30 of their last 33 league matches on home soil. They won’t be bothered how they get three points, they will just be desperate to get them!
The Clarets head to Anfield having lost their last game 1-0 away to West Ham. It was another disappointing performance from Burnley and it has now seen them drop to 17th in the table, just four points clear of the drop.
Burnley will now just be looking to survive this season. They have struggled and in particular in front of goal. They have scored the least amount of goals this season with just nine and its a good job their defence is solid otherwise they’d be even lower!
Burnley will sit deep and not allow Liverpool space over the top. We also expect them to play balls up to their two strikers and try and cause Liverpools stand in centre backs issues.
Liverpool are once again without Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Diogo Jota through injury, while Joel Matip is also an injury doubt along with midfielder Naby Keita.
For Burnley, Charlie Taylor is still out as well as Dunne and Peacock-Farrell.
