Liverpool vs

On Wednesday night, Liverpool and Real Madrid go head-to-head, with the hosts looking to turn around the first leg 3-1 loss.

The hosts go into this game probably thankful that it’s only 3-1. It wasn’t a good performance from their perspective and it highlighted the effect that injuries at the back is having on this Liverpool team.

Liverpool were one of the favourites at the start of the season to win this competition. They have been put on the more favourable side of the draw but have it all to do if they want to reach a third Champions League final under Jurgen Klopp.

Klopps side knows how to turn around a European deficit. They will get chances against Madrid and it’s important that they are clinical. On top of this, they have to be far more organised at the back. All of teh goals they conceded last week could have been avoided with good defending.

Last week went perfectly for Zidane’s side. They go into this game in the driving seat and the only thing that will have annoyed them was the goal they conceded. Apart from this, they dominated most of the, with their midfield three, putting on a great performance.

A lot of these players were part of the Madrid side that won three Champions Leagues in a row. They have been overlooked by everyone, but the performance last week will have shown the other sides they are still a big threat.

Against Liverpool, they need to be focused from the first minute. Liverpool have to come out and attack and so Madrid will be under a lot of pressure. The longer they can see them out the more desperate Liverpool will get and this will give Madrid chances.

Team News

The Reds remain without Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Jordan Henderson. Firmino and Cabak are both doubts.

Valverde, Vazquez, Varane, Ramos and Carjvajal make up Madrids injuries.
