Liverpool vs Arsenal

MON 28th SEPT 2020 – KO 20:00pm

Liverpool vs

Liverpool host Arsenal on Monday night as both sides look to carry on their perfect starts to the 2020/21 season

The reigning champions difficult start to the season carried on with a trip to Stamford Bridge. Even though this was a new-look Chelsea side, it was business as usual for Liverpool. They controlled the game from start to finish ending up 2-0 winners.

Liverpool also got a new fan favourite on the weekend in Thiago Alcântara. He made his debut for the club and was influential in the second half.

A game against Arsenal is usually one that produces a lot of goals, with Liverpool coming away with three points. If they can play like they did against Chelsea they will have every chance of making it three wins from three.

Arsenal have looked a lot better since Arteta came in so Liverpool will need to go into this thinking the game won’t be a walkover as it usually is for Klopp’s side.

Arteta has changed this Arsenal team now to one that looks like a team that won’t be walked over. They won again on the weekend when they beat West Ham 2-1. The winning goal came later on, but in previous seasons this would have been a game they wouldn’t have would away with three points.

Arsenal have changed their style of football under Arteta and it seems to be paying off. They recently played Liverpool in the Community Shield in which they held their own and won on penalties.

Their new signings seem to be fitting in well also. Gabriel and Willian have started both of the last two games and have had positive impacts on the team.

Team News

Henderson and Gomez are racing to get fit for this game after Fabinho had to fill in at centre half last week. Oxlade-Chamberlain won’t be able to face his old club as he is expected to be out until October.

Tierney and Sokratis are both doubtful for the game, with the Scottish defender picking up a knock recently.

Leeds have no reported injury problems. New signings Koch and Rodrigo could make their top-flight debuts.

Match Prediction

This will be a close game between two good sides. With it being at Anfield we can see Liverpool edging it in a close game.
