Leicester City vs Southampton

SUN 18 APR 2021 – KO 18:30

Leicester Vs

On Sunday evening, Leicester take on Southampton in the semi-final of the Fa Cup, which is being played at Wembley Stadium.

The Foxes are in a poor run of form domestically, having won just two of their last six matches. West Ham beat them 3-2 in their last game, in which Leicester came back from 3-0 down, but couldn’t get the final goal.

Leicester have never been to the final of the FA Cup but have a fantastic chance coming up against Southampton. They have already beaten them once in the league this season and are 11 places higher.

Brendan Rodgers looks set to call Maddison and Choudhary back to the side after both players weren’t available last game. Leicester having become a lot better at keeping the ball and will look to do the same this game. Iheanacho is in great form of late and could be the difference on the weekend.

The Saints are having a terrible season having won just two in their last 14 games. They were beaten 3-0 by relegation bound West Brom, which highlighted how poor they have been of late.

Southampton have won this competition once, back in 1976. They last reached the final in 2003 and if they were to do so again this season, it might make up for a very poor league campaign.

Hassenhutls side plays with lots of energy and they like to press the ball. Against Leicester, they are going to have to do this to not allow their ball-playing midfielders time. It’ll be a tough game for them but The Foxes aren’t in great form either and Southampton may fancy their chances!

Team News

Leicester are without James Justin and Harvey Barnes through injury, while Wes Morgan, Ricardo Pereira and Soyuncu are also fitness doubts.

Southampton have three players out in Obafemi, Smallbone and Romeu.

Match Prediction

This is going to be a close game between two sides with lots of energy. We are backing Leicester to qualify, whether that be in 90 minutes or after extra time!

Odds 4/9
