Barcelona vs Sevilla

Barcelona vs

On Sunday night, Barcelona hosts Sevilla at the Nou Camp in a big game in the race to secure the Champions League spots in La Liga.

The Catalan giant’s recent form in La Liga has been relentless, as Xavi Hernandez’s team have now won their last five league matches while remaining 13 games unbeaten in the Spanish top flight. Last time out Barcelona recorded a fine 4-0 win at perennial rivals and league leaders Real Madrid.

Their recent strong league form has seen Barcelona climb to third place, just three points adrift of Sunday night’s second-place opponents.

The Blaugrana’s recent home form has been particularly impressive, as Xavi’s team has won their last four home matches in La Liga, scoring at least two goals in each of the victories.

The Andalusians are now nine points behind league leaders Real Madrid. Los Rojiblancos’ title charge has faded and now they are looking nervously over their shoulders at the teams below, especially Sunday’s upwardly mobile opponents.

Julen Lopetegui’s team are unbeaten in their last 15 matches in La Liga, but the visitors have also drawn seven of their last nine matches in the Spanish top flight. Last time out they drew 0-0 at home to Real Sociedad. The result means that they have scored just one goal in their last three league matches.

Sevilla are unbeaten in their previous seven away games in La Liga but have drawn their five away games in the Spanish top-flight.

Barcelona vs Sevilla Team News

Barcelona are expected to once again be without Sergino Dest, Sergi Roberto and Samuel Umtiti due to various injuries. Sevilla have doubts over the fitness of Papu Gomez, Karim Rekik, Fernando, Diego Carlos and Suso.

Barcelona vs Sevilla Match Prediction

Barcelona are in a rich vein of form right now and we believe that they will end Sevilla’s long unbeaten record by recording a victory in a relatively close encounter.

Odds 4/9
