SAT 30 MAY 2020 – KO 2:30pm
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Friday night, Hertha Berlin and Union Berlin go head-to-head in a midtable capital derby in the Bundesliga.
The home team recorded a 3-0 win at Hoffenheim in their first game under new head coach Bruno Labbadia. The victory moved Hertha eight points clear of the relegation play-off spot.
It also means they are undefeated in three matches, as they had drawn their previous two league games before the win last time out.
Hertha have been highly potent in front of goal of late, scoring at least two goals in four of their last five league outings, including their last three league matches.
One of the reasons for the home sides poor position in the league table has been their poor home form of late, as they have failed to win any of their last six Bundesliga games on home soil.
They have also conceded at least two goals in four of their last five home games in the German top-flight.
The visitors are enjoying a solid if unspectacular first season in the Bundesliga. They will kick-off this game 12th in the table, a point behind their city rivals.
Urs Fischer’s side are not heading into this derby in the best of form, as they have lost three of their last five matches in the German top-flight.
They have now suffered back-to-back league defeats following a 2-0 home defeat by champions Bayern Munich last time out.
Union Berlin have had major defensive problems of late, conceding at least twice in five of their last seven league outings.
Their recent poor displays at the back do not bode well for an away win considering Hertha’s attacking prowess of late.
Hertha are without the suspended Salomon Kalou, while Karim Rekik is expected to miss out due to injury.
Meanwhile, Union could be without Maurice Opfermann Arcones, Akaki Gogia, Laurenz Dehl, Yunus Malli and Sheraldo Becker due to illness and injury.
