Freiburg vs Monchengladbach
FRI 5 JUNE 2020 – KO 19:30pm
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Friday night, Freiburg host Monchengladbach at the Schwarzwald Stadion, as both teams look to pick up vital points in the Bundesliga.
The home sides recent form has seen them slip away from the European qualification spots. However, Christian Streich’s team are not completely out of the picture for the top-six, as they are eighth place in the table and four points behind sixth-place Wolfsburg.
A 1-0 defeat at home to Bayer Leverkusen in their last league outing means that the home side has now failed to win in their last four Bundesliga outings. In fact, they have won just one of their last eight games in the German top-flight.
Freiburg have found home soil a hindrance of late in the Bundesliga, as they have suffered defeat in five of their last seven league matches on their own patch. One of their biggest issues on home soil in the league has been scoring goals, as Streich’s team has failed to score in four of their previous six home games.
The Foals are very much in the hunt for a Champions League spot this season. Marco Rose’s team are fourth-place, but cannot afford any complacency, as they are only above fifth-place Bayer Leverkusen on goal difference.
A 4-1 win over Union Berlin last time out ended a mini two-game winless run for the visitors in the German top-flight. The win was a much-needed one too.
Gladbach are unbeaten in five away games in the German top-flight, having recorded three wins and drawn twice.
Freiburg have no reported injuries or likely absentees for this clash. Monchengladbach could be without Raffael, Breel Embolo, Fabian Johnson, Denis Zakaria and Tobias Strobl through injury.
