With the transfer window coming to an end there is a host of free agents, but who are the best ones available?

When it comes to the end of the transfer window, clubs start letting go of players in order to free up some money. There is always a huge list of players with no clubs that teams who are struggling tend to bring in.

This season there is some real quality in terms of players who are available for nothing. So much so, you could make a good team out of them to compete in the Premier League!

We saw a lot of people making their best teams from free agents and thought we’d do our own. We have also put in some odds of where they could be heading next!

Free Agents FC

Goalkeeper – Ørjan Nyland (30): The ex-Aston Villa goalkeeper managed 30 appearances in the league. He put in some good performances and at the age of 30 isn’t too old for a keeper.

Right-Back – Antonio Valencia (35): With 325 appearances in the Premier League Valencia brings a lot of experience. On top of that, he has two Premier League trophies and a TOTS appearance.

Centre-Back – Ezequiel Garay (33): Garay was wanted by Man United for years. With periods at Real Madrid, Benfica, Zenit and Valencia he could still do a job.

Centre-Back – Ashley Williams (36): What he lacks in pace he makes up for with experience. Williams has 241 Premier League appearances and was fantastic on his day.

Left-Back – Gael Clichy (35): The Arsenal and Man City man takes the last place in the defence. He was part of three Premier League winning teams.

Defensive Midfielder – Jack Wilshere (28): The ex-Arsenal man was released from West Ham at the end of this window. He is only 28 and is a fantastic player when fully fit. Wilshere was always tipped for big things, but injuries have ruined his career so far. He is 4/9 to go and join Steven Gerrards Rangers side which could be a great move for him. However, he is also linked with Aston Villa at 5/4. This would make more sense as he stays in England and in the Premier League. A dream return to Arsenal is at 14/1.

Defensive Midfielder – Andy King (31): King is a Premier League winner with Leicester but was released from the club this season. At 31 he still has a few seasons left in him and is a Wales international.

Attacking Midfielder – Samir Nasri (33): The Frenchman had two good spells at Man City and Arsenal and this resulted in two Premier League trophies. He got 36 goals and 44 assists.

Right-Wing – Daniel Sturridge (29): He was once one of the best forwards in the world when playing with Luis Suarez. Sturridge has 105 goals in the Premier League and has won the Premier League and Champions League.

Left-Wing – Danny Welbeck (29): Welbeck had 224 Premier League games under his belt, 92 at United and 88 at Arsenal. His last club was Watford, who he left when they were relegated. He hasn’t agreed on a new club yet with West Ham favourites at 11/2. Villa are just behind at 7/1 but we like the look of Fulham at 10/1. They are struggling already and rely a lot on Mitrovic. This could be a good challenge for Welbeck, who’s proven he can score goals at the top level.

Striker – Mario Mandzukic (34): He may be old for a footballer, but Manduzkic is a striker who doesn’t need to be sprinting after balls. His positional sense is very good and with spells at Bayern, Juventus and Atletico he has to be in the side.

Bench: Hatem Ben Arfa, Adrian Mariappa, Nathanial Clyne, Shinji Kagawa, Alexandre Pato and Pape Souare.
