Frankfurt vs Mainz
SAT 6 JUNE 2020 – KO 2:30pm
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Saturday afternoon, Eintracht Frankfurt and Mainz go head-to-head at the Commerzbank Arena in a game that could be vital to the visitor’s hopes of survival in the Bundesliga this season.
The home side has experienced a big U-turn in form of late, as they head into this clash on the back of a three-game unbeaten run and two straight victories. A 3-0 win over Werder Bremen last time out moved the Eagles up to 11th in the table. They are now closer to the European spots than the relegation play-off berth.
Adi Hutter’s team have impressed going forward in recent league games too, scoring at least two goals in each of their last four league outings.
Despite a recent upturn in fortunes, Frankfurt still have a poor recent home record, having failed to win in three league matches at the Commerzbank Arena.
The visitors recent form has been worrying and they are now dangerously close to the relegation berths in the Bundesliga. A recent five-game winless run in the German top-flight has contributed to Mainz’s position of just one point above the relegation play-off spot and three points ahead of Werder Bremen in the automatic relegation berths.
Mainz have struggled to pick up victories on the road in the Bundesliga of late, as they have won just once in their last five away games in the German top-flight. They are also winless in three matches on their travels.
Eintracht Frankfurt are expected to be without Goncalo Paciencia and Gelson Fernandes through injury. Meanwhile, the visitors could be without the injured Jeremiah St. Juste and Robin Zentner.
