Frankfurt vs Monchengladbach
SAT 30 MAY 2020 – KO 2:30pm
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Saturday evening, Monchengladbach will travel to Eintracht Frankfurt in the hope of keeping alive their slim hopes of winning the Bundesliga title.
The home side are experiencing a highly underwhelming Bundesliga season compared to their overachieving recent campaigns in the German top-flight. The Eagles have become accustomed to fighting European spots in recent seasons.
However, Adi Hutter’s side are just six points clear of the relegation play-off spot in the German top-flight. They are at least ten points clear of the automatic relegation, so they look unlikely to be in the fight for survival.
The break in play may well have come at a good time for Hutter’s side, as they suffered three straight defeats. Last time out they suffered a 4-0 drumming at Bayer Leverkusen. The game saw the home side concede at least two goals for the third straight league match.
Marco Rose’s team looked to be well-positioned to launch a title challenge in the early stages of the campaign. However, the Foals have fallen six points behind perennial league leaders and champions Bayern Munich.
The main priority for Rose and is his team is to hold off fifth-place Bayer Leverkusen in the race to secure Champions League football for next season. The Foals are just three points ahead of Bayer.
Monchengladbach’s recent form has been mixed in the league. However, the visitors have suffered just one defeat in seven Bundesliga outings. They have remained hard to beat anyway.
When it comes to form, their away results reflect their general form of late, in that it has been inconsistent. They have taken seven points from a possible nine on their travels, though, which should give them confidence heading into this clash.
