BETTING & MATCH PREDICTION
On Wednesday night, England and Denmark clash at Wembley in the second Euro 2020 semi-final, as the home team eye up a first-ever European Championships final appearance.
Gareth Southgate’s team roared into the last four of the European Championships with a 4-0 hammering of Ukraine in Rome. Captain Harry Kane scored a brace, with Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson also getting on the scoresheet. The win means that the Three Lions have won four of their five matches at Euro 2020.
England have been in good form of late, as they are unbeaten in 11 international matches, having recorded ten victories. A key to their recent good results has been their defensive displays, as the Three Lions have now kept clean sheets in their last seven outings.
The Scandinavians have certainly improved a lot since losing their opening two group games at Euro 2020. The two defeats were actually rare losses for Kasper Hjulmand’s team, as they have lost just three of their last 17 international matches.
They booked their place in the last four by recording a 2-1 win over the Czech Republic in the quarter-finals. Striker Kasper Dolberg scored his third goal in his last two appearances for the national team in the victory. He faces a tough task adding to his goal tally against such a stubborn England defence.
Denmark defeated England 1-0 the last time these two teams met in 2020, although the Three Lions did finish the game with ten men.
England head coach Gareth Southgate should have Bukayo Saka available again after injury and the Arsenal man may come back into the team in place of Jadon Sancho.
Denmark welcomed Yussuf Poulsen and Daniel Wass back from the bench last time out after missing previous games through injury. Hjulmand may well name an unchanged starting line-up though.
