Chelsea v Liverpool
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
In the big game of the Premier League weekend, Chelsea host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, as the visitors look to continue their perfect start to the English top-flight campaign.
Chelsea have enjoyed a mixed start to life under new head coach Frank Lampard. The Blues recovered from a 4-0 defeat at Manchester United on the opening day to mount a four-game unbeaten run.
Last time out in the top-flight, the Blues recorded a 5-2 win at Wolves. Striker Tammy Abraham was the hero, scoring a hat-trick. The youngster is on fire at the minute, having fired home seven goals in his last three league appearances.
The Blues are 11 league games unbeaten at Stamford Bridge, having also scored at least two goals in five of their last six home matches in the Premier League.
A big positive for Lampard’s side is that Liverpool have won just one of the last seven meetings between the two teams in 90 minutes.
Liverpool have been formidable so far this season. Jurgen Klopp’s side has won their first five league games of the season to stretch their winning run to 14 games in the English top-flight.
The Reds have also scored at least twice in all 14 of those straight league wins in the Premier League. The last team to stop the Reds scoring in the league was Everton back in March in a 0-0 draw at Goodison Park.
The visitors have now won their last seven away games in the Premier League, once again scoring at least twice in all the victories.
Emerson and Ruben Loftus-Cheek look set to miss out through injury for the Blues. N’Golo Kante, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Antonio Rudiger and Reece James are also injury doubts. Liverpool are likely to be without Naby Keita, Alisson and Divock Origi due to injury.
