Celtic vs Hibs
SUN 27TH SEPTEMBER 2020 – KO 15:00pm
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
It’s second vs third in the Scottish Premiership this Sunday as Celtic welcome Hibs to Parkhead for this top of the table encounter. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 15:00.
Previous meetings between the two clubs have been a one-sided affair. Celtic have lost just once to Hibs (Dec 2018) in the last eight encounters. However, Celtic have a tricky midweek fixture in the Europa League before this match.
Nevertheless, spirits will be high going into the game for the Celts. All statistics point to a home win for Celtic. However, Hibs will be fresher going into the game. Will that be enough to overcome Celtic’s home advantage? I doubt it, but punters might want to consider that point before lumping on.
The betting markets clearly favour Neil Lennon’s men. Boylesports is quoting odds of 3/10 for the home win. Personally, I’d stick to the goals market in this match. Odsonne Edouard looks a decent bet in the anytime scorer market at 3/4.
It’s been a while since Hibs were on the right side of the scoreline against Celtic. However, the timing of this fixture couldn’t be better for Hibernian. Celtic travel to Latvia on Thursday night to play Riga in the Europa League. Neil Lennon’s men will have little time to rest before they face Hibs on Sunday afternoon.
It’s challenging to see Hibs winning this one, but a draw isn’t out of the question. The Hibees have produced some good performances already this season and could run a tired Celtic close.
Boylesports have Hibs at 9/2 to hold Celtic to a draw, and that looks like good value to me. The away win is priced up at 15/2. Doidge might also be worth a punt in the goalscorers market.
Michael Johnston remains an injury for Celtic; the Hibs team is likely to be without Sean Mackie and Scott Allan.
